Millions of Americans across the East Coast and South are bracing for a miserable start to their three-day weekend.

's is expected to get stormy before the Memorial Day holiday, with damaging winds and hail forecast for Friday afternoon.
According to Meteorologist James Gregorio, powerful winds may reach 40-60mph on Friday evening, and hail up to one inch looks to be the primary threat for Jersey residents.
Folks should keep their umbrellas on hand for Saturday as leftover showers may return throughout the morning before clearing out as the day progresses.

The West Coast can also see a few scattered showers on Thursday and Friday, as about two inches of rain is expected to fall over the first third of the three-day-long weekend.
After a rather wet and cloudy start to the holiday weekend, Sunday looks to be dry as the storm shifts offshore.
Rain is also forecast for the Plains, Midwest and Ohio Valleys on Sunday.
"Thunderstorm development, with some potentially strong, will be possible along the front," according to the Storm Prediction Center.
