Arreola said: “So the gunman went in and he told the children ‘You’re going to die.’ And she had her phone and she called 911.

"And instead of grabbing it and breaking it or taking it from her, he shot her. She was sitting right next to her best friend. Her best friend was covered in her blood.”

She added Amerie died a hero because she tried to call the emergency services.

Amerie had just received an award for getting on the A-B honor roll.

Fourth-grader Xavier Lopez, 10, was also among the victims.

Lopez's mom had watched an awards ceremony at the school hours before the tragedy unfolded.

Nine-year-old Uziyah Garcia, also a fourth-grader, was killed.

His uncle Mitch Renfro penned on Facebook: “My nephew was a victim of a school shooting today.”

He said that Uziyah had been slain by a “crazy man”.

Uziyah’s granddad Manny Renfro described him as the “sweetest boy” that he’s ever known.

Eliahana 'Elijah Cruz' Torres, 10, reportedly didn't want to go to school on the day of the shooting, her grandad told Fox News.

Ellie Lugo, Nevaeh Bravo, Rogelio Torres, Annabelle Guadalupe Rodriguez, and Makenna Lee Elrod also died in the massacre.

Jose Flores Jr was killed. His dad told CNN: "He was always full of energy. Ready to play till the night."

KILLED BY A 'CRAZY MAN'

Two teachers Irma Garcia and Eva Mireles were gunned down in the tragedy.

Chilling footage that was later shared on social media showed the moment Ramos inched towards the school before opening fire.

Santos Valdez Jr, who had been Ramos' friend since elementary school, said they used to play video games such as Call of Duty together before his behavior changed.

On one occasion, Ramos turned up to play basketball in a park but he had scratches on his face, The reports.

Ramos claimed that he had been attacked by his cat before admitting that he cut his face using knives.

Valdez recalled: "I was like 'You're crazy, bro, why would you do that?"

Ramos reportedly told Valdez that he did it for fun.

Ramos was also bullied in school, according to his best friend in eighth grade Stephen Garcia.

CHILLING SIGNS

And, he used to egg people’s cars and shoot at vehicles using his BB gun, another friend claimed.

An ex-classmate told that Ramos shared photos of his firearm – days before he carried out the massacre.

He admitted that he was “close” to the gunman and they used to play on the Xbox together.

The friend recalled: “He would message me here and there, and four days ago he sent me a picture of the AR he was using … and a backpack full of 5.56 rounds, probably like seven mags.

“I was like, ‘bro, why do you have this?’ and he was like, ‘Don’t worry about it.

“He proceeded to text me, ‘I look very different now. You wouldn’t recognize me’.”

Ramos used to work at a fast food joint and ex-colleagues have since alleged that he used to send inappropriate text messages to females.

Meanwhile, other former colleagues said Ramos was quiet and rarely interacted with them.
