A WOMAN has been arrested after police discovered an 81-year-old man buried in a shallow grave swarming with flies in her backyard.

Clio Marcia Trice, 50, allegedly told a neighbor she had hit the man in the head with an object before she strangled him until he died.

Officials found the body in the shallow grave under a plank in Trice's backyard in Miami after the neighbor called police on Monday.

A neighbor told  that Trice and the man were married.

They described the victim as "very frail" and said he had been walking with "a stick lately."

Police records say she claimed they had been living together since 2008 and had dated before the relationship became more like a father and daughter arrangement.

There are no official records that the two had been married.

Trice admitted to killing and burying the man when police arrived at her home.

According to police, the alleged murder took place on Friday.

She has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held with no bond.

The victim has only been identified as an 81-year-old white male.
