CLINTON SELFIE

HILLARY Clinton got the cold shoulder at an Orlando campaign event when her supporters turned their back on her - but it was all in aid of a good selfie.

The photo showed the Democratic presidential candidate standing waving to what appeared to be something at the back of the room, with the crowd turning their backs on her with their phones held in the air.

Clinton and the audience appeared captivated in the snap - however it was all so they could get THEMSELVES in the picture with the her - as she is in the running to be the first female President of the USA in American history.

The photo emerged just hours before she was set to take to the stage in the TV showdown she will have with Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Photos from inside the Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York, where the debate will take place, showed two different sized podiums - a short one and a tall one raised internally with plywood.

The picture emerged hours before snaps showed the podium's which will be used in opposing presidential candidates Clinton and Trump will use podiums of different sizes ahead of Monday night's crucial TV debate in the US

According to WABC radio host Rita Cosby who got a sneak peek of the site, Clinton is 5’4 and Trump 6’2.

She reported Clinton's team "wanted the podium modified or a box added for her to stand on so she won’t look short next to Donald Trump".

The debate will be crucial in the race for the White House, ahead of the election in November - both candidates are neck and neck according to a recent .

It has not been officially confirmed which podium will be used by which candidate but it is assumed Clinton will stand at the shorter one to make up for the 10 inch height difference.

It’s not the first time short presidential candidates got a boost for a high-stakes TV audience.

In 1988, Michael Dukakis stood on a sloping platform that was hidden behind his lectern to be better matched with the taller George H.W. Bush.

Meanwhile Trump "threatened" to invite Bill Clinton's ex mistress Gennifer Flowers along to Tv debate, which will be screened on US Tv on Monday evening at 9pm.

"Mocking" his rival he responded to a tweet and suggested the former model and actress could be getting a front row seat at the event.

Flowers claimed she had a 12 year affair with Clinton when he was attorney general in the early 1990's.

However his running mate Mike Pense said she would not be attending.
