He appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court today to face three fresh charges of rape.

They are said to have taken place in Stevenage, Herts, between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2009.

The cop, who has been suspended from the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, spoke only to confirm his identity.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at St Albans Crown Court on May 27.

Carrick is now charged with 44 offences against 12 alleged victims between 2003 and 2020.

These include 21 counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape, nine of sexual assault and two counts of false imprisonment.

Carrick is also three counts of coercive and controlling behaviour, five counts of assault by penetration, one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent and a charge of attempted sexual assault by penetration.

He was first charged in October with raping one woman after they shared drinks in the town.

The cop, who was off-duty at the time, then allegedly raped the woman at a Premier Inn.

Three more women came forward following his first court appearance and he was charged with 19 additional offences.

He allegedly falsely imprisoned one woman in a cupboard under the stairs and sexually assaulted three of the complainants by urinating on them.

The cop, from Stevenage, Herts, allegedly carried out the attacks while a serving officer.

Until his arrest, Carrick had been based within the Met Police’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command.

The Met said: “We recognise that these are extremely serious and concerning allegations. Referrals have been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as the investigation has progressed.
