Haunting photos reveal the forgotten US fighter planes lying at the depths of the ocean after being shot down in World War II
American photographer and scuba diving instructor Brandi Mueller captured the images when diving off of the coast of Roi-Namur, Marshall Islands
HAUNTING underwater images of forgotten US World War Two planes sunken to the deepest depths of the ocean have been captured.
The eerie pictures show how marine life has taken over these once deadly weapons.
One image even shows how schools of fish have been making themselves at home inside a rusted cockpit.
American photographer and scuba diving instructor Brandi Mueller captured the images when diving off of the coast of Roi-Namur, Marshall Islands.
The wrecked planes include the B-25 Mitchell bomber and a Curtiss C-46 aircraft.
The 32-year-old has worked as a captain of scuba boats for years since taking up the sport at the age of 15.
She took up photography after meeting some of the world's foremost underwater snappers.

Discussing her work with The Blaze.com Mueller said: “Seeing the planes is really surreal. “For some reason it’s much more interesting than ship wrecks underwater.
"You expect ships to end up at the bottom of the ocean, but not planes.
Talking of the challenges of her photography she said: “You have a limited time you can stay underwater and shoot.”
