It comes after the state's lottery service indicated that someone named Francis D won $1million on the Extreme Green scratch-off ticket, according to .
However, the Philadelphia Police Department told The US Sun that they couldn't confirm nor rule out Decero's lottery win.
Police captain Jason Smith said that investigators had coordinated with lottery officials and didn't find any evidence that Decero had won the lottery, according to Fox 29.
Surveillance footage shows him double parking before getting out of his Jeep in South Philadelphia. He is then seen getting out of his car and into another that drove away shortly after.
Decero's family later found his car as they searched for him.
Authorities will continue to follow other leads connected to this case.
Decero's father Lou Decero spoke to and expressed that he wanted to know why this happened to his son.
"I just hope they find who did this, this is what I want to know," he said. "Everybody loved that kid," Lou Decero told the CBS News Philadelphia.
He expressed that his son would often take him out to eat and how he couldn't get a better son than Francis.
"I have to know who did this, there was no reason. I don't know who would [have] done this, I hope they find him," Lou Decero said to CBS News Philadelphia.
No arrests have been made in connection to this investigation.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
