Three bodies found in US home after child calls 911… and cops are now hunting for missing girl, 17
Cops found the three dead bodies after a child called 911 to say her parents had 'died'
POLICE are searching for a missing 17-year-old girl after three dead bodies were found at her home.
Officers were alerted to the incident in Southern California when a child called 911 to say her parents "died".
Cops are now hunting Katlynn Goodwill Yost, who lives at the home, and are concerned for her welfare.
Two children were found unharmed at the home in Fullerton, which is 26 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
Katlynn is believed to be the two youngster's sisters, but police have not yet revealed the children's ages or their relationship to the adults.
Police said they are working to establish the names, ages and relationship of the three adults.
Sgt. John Radus said: "Two children were found unharmed.
"Anytime someone loses their life it's a tragedy. It's even more of a tragedy when children are involved."
Radus added: "We're concerned for her safety because we obviously haven't been able to find her."
Police said the dead had suffered "significant trauma" and suggest it was a triple murder.
Sgt. John Radus said: "We have confirmed we do not believe it was a murder-suicide.
"We are treating it as a triple homicide. We do not believe this was a random act of violence."
A statement from Fullerton Police said: "Fullerton PD Detectives have determined that a third juvenile, 17 year old Katlynn Goodwill Yost (2-11-1999), resides at the residence in which three adults where found deceased earlier today in the 400 block of S. Gilbert Street.
"Detectives have spent the day searching for Katlynn, but have been unsuccessful in locating her.
"We are asking for the public’s help in locating Katlynn, who is now described as a Missing/At Risk Person.
"Katylnn is a 17 year old female white, approximately 5’6" tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. She has strawberry blonde hair and dark coloured eyes."
The Police department added they have "committed all its resources to identify who is responsible for this act".
Authorities are working to obtain a search warrant to continue their investigation.
Officers are still trying to determine whether an outside suspect was responsible.
A spokesman added: "We don't believe the community is currently in danger at this particular time."
One neighbour told the Orange Country Register a couple lived in the house with three children, one a teenager and the others between seven and nine years old.
Donna Trice said: "It's sad for the children. They're now without parents.
"The two little girls found the bodies, and that tears me up."
The home is situated on a block of single family residences in a mostly middle-class community.
Local Virginia Wheeler, 67, said the dead woman inside the house was her friend of 18 years.
She described the woman's husband as a "really good dad" who loved playing with the girls.
She added he was a mechanic who had fixed her cars on a number of occasions, before saying: "Oh man, I'm in shock."
