Director tipped to helm next Bond movie says Hiddleston ‘a natural spy’ after Night Manager success
Susanne Bier is on a shortlist to be the next 007-director and believes Hiddleston has what it takes
TOM Hiddleston has been branded a “natural spy” by the director tipped to take charge of the new James Bond film.
Susanne Bier, in the running to be the first-ever female director of a 007 movie, praised the dashing Brit – who she oversaw in hit BBC show The Night Manager.
Hiddleston, 35, had slipped down the running to take on the spy role when Daniel Craig hangs up his tux, after his ill-fated romance with singer Taylor Swift.
But Danish director Susanne, 56, said to be on Barbara Broccoli’s shortlist for the new the film, gushed: “I think Tom could do anything. If he wants to Bond he would great at it.
“Tom is a very special actor. He is very physical and he can do anything with his body and yet is so incredibly skilled at lines.
“He is a natural spy because seventy per cent of what he is thinking remains a secret.
“That makes it so interesting to watch him, as you what to know what is he feeling. And that make him captivating on screen.”

Susanne’s support could be vital in helping Hiddleston land the biggest role in cinema.
MGM and production firm Eon executives are said to have earmarked the director, who won an Emmy for The Night Manager, as one of the favourites to take over from Sam Mendes.
And she herself has boasted she would do “an amazing job” directing the next Bond movie – the 25th film in the franchise.
She said: “Look I would be really honoured. I think I would do an amazing job. I do not think I would do a different movie because I am a woman.
“I think I would do a different movie because I am a different director.”
James Norton, Poldark star Aidan Turner and Michael Fassbender are favourites to take over from Daniel Craig.
Emmy-nominated Hiddleston has said that all “possibilities” are on the table for his next role.
Asked what is he is doing next in his career, he said: “I don’t officially know that yet.
"It is an interesting time there are lots of possibilities but I haven’t locked on anything yet.”
