Cops release images of lorry ‘involved in hit and run outside London Underground station’ that killed 71-year-old
A 71-old man died following a collision near Earls Court underground station last night
POLICE have released an image of a lorry which was involved in a fatal collision with an elderly man outside a London Underground station.
The 71-year-old man died in hospital following the incident which happened last night.
Police along with London Ambulance and London’s Air Ambulance arrived at the scene in Earl’s Court Road at 9.25pm.
Officers say they believe they know the identity of the man but are awaiting formal identification and say next of kin have been informed.
A spokesman from the Met said: "The lorry did not stop at the scene and it is not known whether the driver was aware that his vehicle had been in collision with a pedestrian."
Detectives investigating the collision have released a CCTV image of the lorry involved in the collision and it is described as a large, white, articulated lorry, with three axles on the trailer and three axles on the tractor unit.
The spokesman added: "The driver of this lorry is urged to contact police."
Anyone with any information about collision are called to contact the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit which is investigating.
