A PAEDOPHILE who was filmed "stampeding" across a courtroom to "shank" a prosecutor has been jailed for a sex attack on a 10-year-old girl.

Twisted Joshua Harding was filmed slipping a blade out of his sleeve and attempting to stab assistant prosecutor Jonathan Roth in the bizarre courtroom outburst.

CCTV catches the rudimentary knife's tip slash the air inches from Roth's face, as Harding is wrestled to the ground by cops in the courtroom.

The pervert, who had been brought to the court from Ingham County Jail, in Michigan, USA, was then handcuffed by security - one of whom sustained an injury to his face.

Harding has since been found guilty of second degree criminal sexual conduct and has been jailed for 19 to 38 years.

He now faces attempted murder and terrorism charges following the courtroom outburst.

The 35-year-old is due to make another court appearance to stand trial for the second round of charges.

He is currently in Ingham County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on Thursday afternoon.

Security at the Veterans Memorial Courthouse was reviewed following the massive lapse in August.

Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth said that although the public, attorneys and the media are required to pass through metal detectors and X-Ray machines to access the court, inmates coming from the jail are not.

He added that the matter is something being investigated following the incident.
