Heartbreaking texts between Jim Carrey and tragic lover appear to reveal she feared he gave her THREE STDs before dumping her
HEARTBREAKING messages between Jim Carrey and his tragic ex-lover have been released to support claims he gave her THREE STDs before dumping her.
Cathriona White - who died aged 30 after taking a lethal cocktail of drugs at her LA home last September - tells Carrey, 54, she fears he has given her an STD in a series of devastating messages, before declaring her love for the Hollywood star.
The texts were presented as evidence as part of a wrongful death lawsuit against Carrey, which was filed by Cathriona's ex husband Mark Burton.
Cathriona believed Carrey had passed on sexually transmitted diseases to her during their relationship - and Burton argues this triggered her suicide.
He also claims Carrey tried to keep the discovery of the infections in 2013 - reported as Herpes Type 1 and 2 as well as gonorrhoea - under wraps.
However, lawyers for The Mask star said the claim was “categorically disputed” and that it was “a desperate, bogus claim made by the ‘husband’ of a sham marriage”.
In the messages, the funnyman repeatedly asks Cathriona to sign a contract - which Burton alleges was to ensure she would not sue the Hollywood star for allegedly infecting her with STDs.
A letter from Cathriona to Carrey has also been added to the claim, in which she describes herself as "damaged goods" after learning she had contracted Herpes Type 1, Herpes Type 2 and Gonorrhoea.
The letter also claims she has been "disrespected, degraded, called a whore, an opportunist, threatened" and made to feel like an "ungrateful b****" by Carrey.
Cathriona appears to have first noticed symptoms of what could be sexually transmitted disease in January 2013.
After texting Carrey with her fears, he responded: "Aggravated folacles [sic] or bumps are normal when you shave or have vigorous sex."
One month later Cathriona tells Carrey she is "still kinda sick", and adds: "Have a couple of bumps down there again, felt them this morning so I want to get it checked."
She voices her concerns again in a later message, saying: "I understand you're worried.
"Imagine how I am feeling right now. I am the one that should be freaking out.
"If anything I am sure it's just the abrasion thing you were talking about."
Carrey responds by saying: "I hope you're ok, hun.
"It could be from someone before me. Doesn't show up until you're really stressed.
"Most likely something else. Feel better."
White tells Carrey she was tested just before the pair met, and insists she could not have contracted it from anyone else.
Burton claims the Hollywood star then ended the pair's relationship "inexplicably" within hours.
Later messages between the pair are full of tragic Cathriona's admiration for her ex-boyfriend.
In one she declares: "I wake up and go to sleep hoping you're doing good.
"I didn't even think your attention was on it in the slightest. I am out of sight.
"I am out of mind I am being invisible. I no longer matter.
"I get it but it doesn't mean I am not going through it, and I still exist."
Despite the heartfelt messages, Carey appears to continue to put pressure on his ex to sign the alleged contract.
While Carrey insists "I care about you Cat", he pushes her to "hurry up" and demands "I would like it done this week".
He appears to become aggressive in later exchanges, as Cathriona appears to not meet his demands.
In one he says: "K don't want to talk anymore. Deal with Linda. I'm done.
"You have become too much drama. Keep that in mind - the things I'm doing are out of kindness. They are not obligations."
In others he calls her a "jerk", "over-dramatic" and "ungrateful" - before telling her to "grow up";.
Jim Carrey has hit back at the accusations made against him, branding it a "heartless attempt to exploit" him and Cathriona.
Jim released a statement that read: “What a shame.
"It would be easy for me to get back in a room with this man's lawyer and make this go away, but there are moments in life when you have to stand up and defend your honour against the evil in this world.
"I will not tolerate this heartless attempt to exploit me or the woman I loved.
"Cat's troubles were born long before I met her and sadly her tragic end was beyond anyone's control. I really hope someday soon people will stop trying to profit from this and let her rest in peace."

Marty Singer, who is representing Jim Carrey in this case, told : “The conduct of the parties confirms that the allegations will be proven false.
“Significantly, the alleged text messages referred to were sent in 2013, yet in November of 2014, Ms White sought out my client and asked him to continue a serious relationship.
"If he had engaged in the alleged horrible conduct, why would she reach out and request that they continue to stay together?
“In fact, they were even working out a cohabitation agreement, as they were living together for the most part up until her death."
The new amendment to the wrongful death lawsuit stated that Cathriona had also written a letter to Jim regarding the STDs, referring to herself as ‘damaged goods’, and saying she believed it would make it difficult for her to find a new relationship after the end of theirs.
Before the new allegations, Burton had filed the wrongful death lawsuit against Carrey after Cathriona took a drug overdose on medication supposedly prescribed to Jim under pseudonym Arthur King.
Mr Singer states that the bottles of Ambien, Propranolol and Percocet were obtained legally by Jim for his own personal use, and that Cathriona had ‘stolen’ them from him.
He said: "It is despicable that Burton, who claims to have been Ms. White's husband but never lived with her and did not even reside in the same state she did, now comes forward trying to cash in on her death.
"We are confident that the court will see through this abhorrent money-grab scheme."
