Chilling moment Brit fighter paraded on Russian TV with ‘injured arm & bloody hand’ after being forced to ‘surrender’

ANOTHER British fighter captured in Ukraine has been paraded on Russian TV after apparently suffering gunshot wounds.

He was named as Andrew Hill, a dad of four from Plymouth, and appeared to be wounded with a head bandage and his left arm in a sling. 

Hill looked tired and terrified and kept his head bowed as he looked at the floor, occasionally glancing up nervously as he asked if he would ever get back to England.

He is the third Brit fighter to be held – after Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin were also paraded by their Russian captors.

And it comes a day after Scott Sibley became the first Briton to be killed in the conflict.

Hill said he had been shot and begged to go to hospital in the forced video appearance today. 

Looking weak and fearing for his safety, Hill was subjected to an interrogation on Rossiya 1 state TV.

When he asked how long he would be held before being allowed back to England, he was told: “I can’t tell you anything about that, but you can rest assured you’re safe.”

Andy said he was carrying a Czech-made CZ assault rifle when he was captured, and that Russian troops had administered first aid.

The channel said: “Andrew Hill laid down his arms and surrendered to the Russian military in the Mykolaiv region, after the group of mercenaries in which he fought was defeated and he himself was injured.”

He was used to trumpet a Russian message when asked: “What would you like to say to other Englishmen who decide to go to Ukraine?”

He replied: “They need to really think about it. This doesn’t involve us.”

In other exchanges, the Brit said he was divorced and that his father died on New Year’s Eve.

“Is there anybody else who can care about you?” the TV interrogator asked

He replied: “My children, I have four children, and I do have a partner whom I’m dating now.”

Hill also explained how he flew to Poland and crossed the border from the town of Rzeszov into Ukraine alone.

He said he was not paid to fight – contradicting the TV interrogator’s description of him as a mercenary.

Hill then pleaded: “Am I safe?” and was assured he will not be harmed.

He said Russian soldiers had given first aid for the gunshot wound in the arm, and asked if he would be taken to hospital after the interview.

“Yes, you will be taken care of,” the interrogator said.

Earlier this month, ex-soldier Shaun Pinner, 48, was paraded on TV twice and taunted by Russians who lied that his Ukrainian comrades wanted him dead.

Aiden Aslin, 28, was seen covered in bruises and being threatened with the death penalty in a disturbing video that Facebook eventually agreed to take down.

Both men were captured during the siege of Mariupol.

Yesterday it was reported that Royal Marines veteran Scott Sibley, 36, had been killed fighting alongside Ukrainian defenders in besieged Mykolaiv.

Friends said he was “the bravest person” they knew and showed commando spirit to the end.

Meanwhile, two British aid workers have reportedly been kidnapped by Russian forces.

Paul Urey and Dylan Healy were on a rescue mission to save civilians but were detained and accused of being spies.
