Among the first of many now waiting outside the shop were Newcastle University students, Jordan Clough and Alex Robson.

Alex, 21, who is studying architecture, is seventh on the waiting list after arriving at 8am today.

Jordan, 20, who is studying graphics arrived at 11am and is 30th.

Explaining why he would wait for days to buy the trainers he said: “It’s Kanye. Anything he touches turns to gold.

“It’s limited, it’s special edition. It’s just the type of clothing we wear.”

Just six stores in the UK will sell the limited edition Adidas shoes.

Jordan added: “There are 15 to 20 of us that are always here.

“It’s mainly overnight, and when you sleep here overnight and are here for most of the day. If you got work, uni or anything like that, then it’s Ok to leave.”

The store 'End' announced on Tuesday through its Twitter and Facebook accounts that it would have the hip-hop artist’s latest 350 Yeezy Boost V2 trainers for sale on Saturday morning.

Eager fans soon began to gather hoping to be one of the select few to pick up the limited edition Adidas shoes.

The new design is similar to the old Yeezy trainer, but the latest update includes the words “SPLY-350” over a swipe of colour on the side of the shoe.

Adidas has described the Yeezy Boost trainer as "the world's most influential and sought-after shoe".

It has said: "Redesigned yet true to its roots the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 is crafted with beautiful, premium materials that infuse Adidas' technology with Kanye West's unmistakable aesthetic."

The other stores to stock the shoes are in London and Aberdeen.
