Bodies of man and woman found in two homes as suspect arrested in double death riddle
COPS in Scotland have launched a probe after the bodies of a man and a woman were found in two homes a mile apart.
Detectives have arrested a suspect after the tragedies at properties in South Lanarkshire.
John Paul Duffy's body was found at a flat in Coatbridge's Coates Street on Sunday.
His death is being treated as murder. A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the horror find.
Yesterday, police visited a property in Calder Street, around a mile from where Mr Duffy, 51, was found.
There, they discovered the body of a woman.

Her death is currently being treated as unexplained.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, Police Scotland said.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Duffy, with one pal calling his death "f***ing heartbreaking".
"Hope you're at peace now, will never forget you," they added.
Another wrote: "RIP JP".

Detective Chief Inspector Graham Grant said: "The deaths are being treated as linked.
"Officers are currently carrying out extensive inquiries into both incidents."
The force said there was an increased police presence in the area as its investigation continues.
DCI Grant said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or spoken with Mr Duffy in the days before his body was found, including anyone who may have visited his flat.
"We are also carrying out inquiries to establish places or persons Mr Duffy visited or frequented in the days before his death.";
