Cardiff Crown Court court heard had been admitted to accident and emergency - and attacked Dr Nabeel Jemah when he sent her home.

Gareth James, prosecuting said: "She used a large amount of obscene language towards him.

"She picked up a tea cup and threw it at the doctor."

He said the cup hit Dr Jemah on his hip and didn't cause any injury.

The court heard university graduate Crabtree turned to drugs after being the victim of domestic violence.

She had been taken to an accident and emergency unit after overdosing on heroin - and after her treatment was told she was free and was refused a prescription for methadone.

Crabtree was then arrested and escorted from Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, telling officers: "I threw the cup but didn't mean it to hit him."

She pleaded guilty to common assault and admitted breaching a suspended sentence for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

Adam Sharp, defending, said Crabtree was "troubled" and "an acutely vulnerable woman."

He said: "This is not the first occasion when in troubled circumstances she has lashed out at a person who is trying to help her."

Crabtree, from Bridgend, South Wales, was given a suspended 16-week sentence and ordered to complete rehabilitation sessions.
