One of Britain’s oldest D-Day veterans Thomas Trotter dies aged 101
ONE of Britain’s oldest D-Day veterans has died at the age of 101.
Twice-married Thomas Trotter loved telling war stories with pals and family.
Originally from Stockton, he served with the Northumberland Fusiliers and the Pioneer Corps.
Pre-lockdown, Tommy would visit The Last Post bar in Thornaby every day, and was known for his dancing.
Tommy, who never had children, met his first wife, a German, in the war but she passed away in 1980.
He then married Yvonne in 1988 and she died around 2011.
