Drunken Brits banned from flying with Jet2 after they got aggressive when cabin crew seized their ‘illicit’ airport vodka

SIX drunken Brits have been hit with flying bans after they were hauled off a holiday jet to Tenerife on Saturday.
Passengers said the group got aggressive as cabin crew seized 'illicit' vodka they brought on board the Jet2 flight from Newcastle.
A shaken passenger said: “About an hour and a half into the flight we heard a huge commotion by the back of the plane and we noticed these people who were really drunk.
“The stewardesses had to take away the vodka.
“But by the end of the flight they had to close the bar and the captain had to turn the seat belt signs on.
“When we landed we had to sit for 20 minutes until the local police took the people away."
Another added: “It was really scary.
“People who told them to pipe down got verbal abuse - just foul language.”
Three of the rowdy group are banned from flying on Jet2 flights for the next 12 months, while the rest have been told they will not be able to use their return ticket home.
A spokesperson for Jet2 said: "This group were rude and aggressive to our cabin crew after drinking illicit alcohol, and they should be in no doubt that the consequences of such behaviour will not be accepted.
“We welcome the proposed review by Lord Ahmad into the sale of alcohol at airports and also call for the introduction of sealed bags for Duty Free purchases.”
The airline has handed out 22 life-long flying bans this year.
