Medford shooting in Massachusetts sees cops swarm Malden District Court ‘where body lies outside building’
ONE person was killed and a suspect is in custody after a shooting outside a Massachusetts courthouse.
The incident happened around 5pm near the Malden District Court in Medford.
A large crime scene was established by police in the parking lot. The buildings in the area also include the Cambridge District Court.
The suspect and the victim knew each other said Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.
William Barabino, the attorney for the suspect that his client had been arrested.
The incident occurred after a court hearing debate over a restraining order, said Barabino.

“There’s an allegation, a suggestion that my client went around the corner, drove his car into a person. That person is his nephew. Pinned him against the car and shot five times,” said Barabino.
The attorney added that he may know the reasoning for the incident.
“There was a restraining order he was not successful in," Barabino said of his client.
"He didn’t express his disappointment. In fact, he said he was fine. Obviously, he wasn’t.”
