UK weather forecast: 4 inches of snow to hit TODAY with drivers warned of travel chaos
FOUR inches of snow will hit today as Brits battle freezing conditions.
A yellow weather warning is in place in some parts of the UK, with drivers warned of imminent travel chaos amid the frosty blitz.

The Met Office issued the alert for Scotland, affecting north-eastern areas from 6am until 10pm.
It warns up to four inches will settle on higher ground, with around two inches expected in lower regions as the day progresses.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Persistent rain over northern Scotland will increasingly turn to snow over high ground during Tuesday morning, then to lower levels by the afternoon."
Temperatures plunged to a wintry -2C overnight, and the mercury will struggle to climb above 3C in the worst affected areas.

The chilly weather could cause disruption on the roads and railways, with those travelling urged to take care.
Elsewhere, it will be significantly warmer at 11C in Newcastle, 12C in Belfast, 13C in Cardiff and 16C in London.
But the spring-like sunshine won't last for long, as forecasters reckon northern parts of England the Midlands could see a sprinkling of the white stuff from tomorrow.
According to the Met Office's five-day forecast, snow will fall across Scotland on Wednesday before moving southwards.

Gale force winds are also expected, with "severe" 79mph gusts in the far northwest.
Wintry showers are then expected in the north of England on Thursday and Friday.
A Met Office forecaster said: "Thursday and through the weekend is likely to be cold in the north with wintry showers, and a risk of snow on the edge of rain bands in the Midlands.
"Widespread frosts are expected in the north, with some icy patches."

Meteorologist Alex Deakin added: "It may have been a milder Monday, but don't get used to it, colder weather is on the way for all of us in the next few days.
"The snow continues into Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, coming down to low levels in Scotland."
