TWO children who sparked a desperate search after disappearing yesterday lunchtime have been found.
Aimee Wheelhouse, 13, and 12-year-old Elliott Lister had last been seen at Banff Academy, Aberdeenshire, at around lunchtime on Monday.
Police said the disappearance is out of character for the pair and concern was growing for their safety.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "Police Scotland is pleased to confirm missing people Aimee Wheelhouse (13) and Elliott Lister (12), who were reported missing from the Banff area, have been traced safe and well in the town.
"Officers would like to thank the public and the media for all the information provided and for sharing the original appeal."
Anyone who had seen the youngsters was urged to contact officers after they vanished from school.
Aimee is 5ft with long straight brown hair and Elliott is described as having a thin build, with short brown gelled hair.
Sergeant Scott Massie said at the time of disappearance: "It is out of character for Aimee and Elliott to remain out overnight without telling anyone and as such there is growing concern for their well-being.
"If anyone believes that they may have seen Aimee or Elliott, I urge them to contact Police Scotland on 101."
