Tourist trampled to death by elephant while trying to take its photo during safari

The 66-year-old was killed while holidaying with his wife at Tsavo National Park in Kenya

A TOURIST has been crushed to death by an elephant while trying to take a photo.

The Italian holidaymaker was killed while attempting to take a picture of the mammal in Kenya’s Tsavo National Park on Sunday.

The 66-year-old had been having breakfast with his wife in their tent before he left with his camera.

The tourist approached the elephant near a watering hole which was thought to have provoked it

But as he approached a watering hole in the Kualu ranch, he provoked the pachyderm, which then attacked him.

Police say the man suffered serious injuries to his left leg and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.
