Dashcam captures terrifying moment driver realises he can’t avoid motorway smash

SHOCKING dashcam footage has emerged of the moment a driver realises he can't avoid a motorway smash after traffic comes to a grinding halt yards in front of him.

The scary video was captured on a camera of a car driving along the M6 and starts with traffic flowing normally.

The car just begins to pull into the middle lane from the outside carriage when a white van pulls out.

A black BMW in front then swerves suddenly into the inside lane as the traffic stops.

A black VolksWagen Golf is then clipped by the BMW bursting the rear left tyre.

The car with the dashcam then runs out of space hitting the central reservation as he tries to squeeze past the cars in front.

The driver manages to get past the first two in the queue before shunting a grey Renault Megane in the boot.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the shocking crash.

Highways Agency bosses have repeatedly warned people to pay attention at all times when behind the wheel.

As well as putting other motorists at risk any lapse in concentration can also harm those working on our highways.

A Highways Agency, spokesman said: “Every year we have road workers who are either killed or seriously injured as a result of motorists or other roads users not paying attention to roadworks.

“This is our office, our shop, where we work all the time. Please drive within the speed limit and pay attention.”
