The ‘unexplained’ death of US airman based in Suffolk is not being treated as suspicious, cops confirm

THE "unexplained" death of a US airman is not being as suspicious, police have confirmed.

Sgt Joshua Wikston, 33, was found at his home in Mundford, Norfolk, at 9:40am on Friday.

He worked as a technician at nearby military base RAF Lakenheath, where he helped to maintain the USAF's F-15 Eagle jets in the 48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.

Col Evan Pettus, a commander with 48th Fighter Wing of the US Air Force, said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Staff Sgt Wikston's family, friends and fellow airmen.

"We will do everything we can to support his family through this difficult time, and to care for the members of our team who need assistance in the wake of his death."

RAF Lakenheath houses units and personnel from the US - as does nearby RAF Mildenhall.

They are the two main US Air Force bases in the UK.

Officers were alerted to the incident at 9.40am on Friday morning after reports the body of a man had been found at a property Mundford.
