OAP, 75, facing trial accused of causing death of five-month-old baby after ‘crashing into pram’ on A10

A PENSIONER is facing trial over the death of a baby boy killed in his pram in a horror crash.

Louis Thorold was being pushed on the pavement by mum Rachael when two vehicles collided in the road.

The crash caused a van to veer into Louis' pram - killing the five-month-old.

His mum Rachael was left with life-changing injuries and spent more than 100 days in hospital after the horror in Cambridge in January last year.

Shelagh Robertson, 75, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court today charged with causing the infant's death by careless driving.

She was not asked to enter a plea but a provisional trial date of August 8 was set.

Robertson was bailed to return to the same court on April 22 for a plea hearing.

The pensioner was allegedly driving a Mazda 2 carelessly on the A10 when it collided with the van.

Louis' dad Chris previously paid tribute to his baby son as Rachael recovered ub hospital.

He said: "We will love you always our little Louis.
