A DOGSITTER has revealed the shocking injuries that left her with skin hanging from her face when she was bitten 800 times in a vicious dog attack.

Jacqueline Durand was set to celebrate her 22nd birthday only days after the traumatic mauling last December that left her in a medically-induced coma.

She is now speaking out about the horrific experience as she relived how the German Shepard and Boxer-Pitbull mix she was dogsitting mauled her as soon as she opened the door.

Jacqueline was bitten more than 800 times, lost 30 percent of her blood, was resuscitated multiple times, and put in a medically-induced coma for a week, her mom Shirley Durand told .

"I thought I was going to die," Jacqueline said to CBS.

First responders rushed her to the trauma ward of the hospital 37 minutes after they arrived.

When asked by CBS why they didn't shoot the dogs to rescue Jacqueline sooner, they claimed it was because they "were only able to see [her] legs and were not immediately aware of the extent of her injuries."

Jacqueline was screaming for help as the dogs kept the officers at bay, their bodycam footage shows.

Today, she said she's ready to show who she is.

"I can't be scared of it," she said.

However, she's still "speechless," she told CBS after she nearly died.

"After every meet and greet I had, I always felt the same with those other dogs and they don't change their attitude from the time that I met them to the time that I go there for the first time."

However, she is urging dog owners to "know their animals and be able to communicate with their sitters how they are."

The heartbroken owners said in a statement to CBS that they would "never knowingly put anyone in harm's way, and were shocked by what happened at [their] home."

However, the Durand family lawyer argues a warning sign on the front door suggests otherwise.

"...the Bishops knew that both of these dogs had acted aggressively to people arriving at the front door."

The sign read: "Crazy dogs. Please don't knock or ring the bell. Call or text instead."

Despite the sign on the door, the dogs' owners claimed they never showed a history of violence.

"None," Justin Bishop told police.

Jacqueline had met the dogs who attacked her once before, and she described them as "lovely."
