Who is Lynlee Renick?

Lynlee Gallatin-Renick is a local spa owner-turned-prison inmate from New Florence, Missouri.

On April 13, 2014, she tied the knot with reptile specialist and snake breeder Ben Renick.

Ben owned and operated the snake breeding facility Renick Reptiles.

Lynlee and Ben have two children together; a daughter named Emilia and a son named Matthew.

On June 8, 2017, Ben was found dead at his place of business.

At the time, Lynlee told authorities that Ben was crushed by one of the facility's pythons.

However, his death evolved into a murder investigation due to gun shell casings recovered from the scene.

On January 18, 2020, Lynlee and her ex-boyfriend Michael Humphrey were arrested in relation to her late husband's murder.

What was Lynlee's trial verdict?

On December 9, 2021, a jury found Lynlee guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

For her role in her husband Ben's shooting death, she was sentenced to 16 years in prison on January 24, 2022.

She remains incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center.

Lynlee's co-conspirator Michael Humphrey was also found guilty of second-degree murder.

Initially, he was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

However, his charges were reduced after he assisted the prosecution and testified against his co-conspirator.

On January 5, 2022, Humphrey was sentenced to life in prison.

He remains incarcerated at Jefferson City Correctional Center.
