Jailed peado Rolf Harris dashes to hospital with suspected blood poisoning
The disgraced former children's entertainer was convicted of sexually assaulting four young girls in 2014
JAILED paedo Rolf Harris is being treated in hospital for suspected blood poisoning, The Sun can reveal.
The disgraced children’s entertainer, 86, was rushed from his cell at Stafford prison on Sunday to a nearby NHS ward.
Last night he was still under supervision by medics but is expected to be discharged soon.
A source told The Sun: “Harris was treated like any other prisoner in the circumstances.
“He was escorted from Stafford by prison officers and has been monitored at all times.
“He is likely to return to jail shortly.”
Sepsis is normally sparked by an infection or an injury and can be life threatening if left untreated.
The NHS website says it causes the body’s immune system to go into overdrive, preventing blood supply to vital organs like the brain, heart and kidneys.
Without antibiotics it can be fatal - especially in older patients.
Aussie Harris is serving five years and nine months after being sentenced in 2014 for sexually assaulting four young girls.
He is facing a new trial in January over charges of indecently assaulting seven more women and girls, which he denies.
Earlier this year we told how Harris had been secretly taken to hospital twice as medics battle to control his diabetes and chest pains.
His last hospital trip came in February.
Harris is the biggest name to be convicted under the Met’s troubled Operation Yewtree.
It was sparked by the Jimmy Savile sex scandal.
Harris was stripped of his CBE last year.
