My son James Bulger was abducted and murdered by two evil child killers – I will fight to keep his killer in jail
JAMES Bulger's mum has vowed to keep one of his evil killers in prison after it emerged the monster is bidding for freedom.
Jon Venables, 39, will be given the chance to appeal at a hearing this year to determine whether he can once again be released into the public.
James' mum Denise Fergus, 53, has now said she believes the fiend "should never be allowed back on the street".
She told the : "I’m living an amazing life and most the time I’m flying with happiness but when this comes up it drags me back down again.
“It just deflates me, it’s just so hard. It’s been never-ending.
“But I will fight with everything I possibly can to keep him in prison. It is a life battle. I’ve done it from the beginning and I’ll do it until the end.”
Venables and pal Robert Thompson shocked the nation in 1993 when, aged just ten, they abducted and mutilated in Bootle, Merseyside.

The toddler had been led away by the pair while Denise was in a butcher's shop at the busy shopping centre.
They took James to a railway line and tortured, beat and sexually assaulted him.
The monsters also poured modelling paint into his eyes, stoned him and clubbed him with bricks, before leaving him on the railway line to be hit by a train.
Both Venables and Thompson were jailed and handed lifelong anonymity and new identities following their release from prison.
Thompson has not re-offended since being released on licence when he was 18 years old.
But Venables has been recalled to jail twice since he was first released in 2001 for possessing indecent images of children.
'CAPABLE OF EVIL'
Denise has revealed her fears at the fiend's potential release and branded him a "danger to society".
She is also terrified he will discover where James' brother Michael lives after his partner gave first to Denise's first grandchild, baby Peyton.
The mum said: "I’m hoping and praying he doesn’t get released because he’s still capable of evil. He’s proven to everyone that he’s still got it and that’s why he’s locked up again.
"I don’t want another family to go through what my family has been through – you’re on a rollercoaster ride from the beginning. He knows where I live, he knows what I look like. I’m not getting told where he lives and I don’t know what he looks like.
“Now the lads are older and we’ve got the new baby I’m going to be worried. I don’t know if he’s going to be standing outside my house while we’re all sleeping."
NEW BABY JOY
Defiant Denise also told how she would never accept the killer's apology after she discovered Venables had asked to speak to her and say sorry.
She explained Venables murdered her son "in the worst possible way" as she also slammed the justice system for spending money to protect his identity.
Meanwhile Denise and husband Stuart have been fighting to keep the James Bulger Memorial Trust alive after receiving no government help during Covid.
But Denise revealed how she has found happiness again after the birth of Peyton 16 months ago.
She said: “Peyton has been a power of strength for us and helped the light come back into our lives after James.
“Her dad Michael looks so much like James and I can see him in Peyton, too. It’s lovely.”
