Randy chicken that had sex with my slipper ruined my honeymoon says disgruntled bride
Mum-of-four Victoria Leigh, 24, told how stowaway in romantic cabin was almost impossible to shift
A DISAPPOINTED bride has complained that a randy chicken ruined her honeymoon - by having sex with her slipper.
Frustrated Victoria Leigh told how the strutting cockerel stowed away in the romantic lodge she was sharing with husband Chris.
The couple, from Rhyl, Wales, had booked a long weekend away at Dyserth Falls Resort in Prestatyn when the plucky chicken invited himself into their log cabin and made himself at home.
Throughout their stay the brazen bird played gooseberry by perching on the sofa watching TV, crowing in the bedroom and jumping into bed with them.
But the final straw came when it took a shine to Victoria’s footwear.
The 24-year-old said: “I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was mortifying.
"I couldn't believe the chicken was having sex with my slipper.
"Once he finished I picked him up and put him outside – while I was left with a wet slipper.
"I had a big rant at Chris and told him he either needed to clean them or get me some new ones."
The chicken, christened Dave by Chris, had sneaked into the lodge soon after they arrived on Friday and was discovered hiding in the hallway.
Chris caught the moment on camera and can be heard saying: "I've booked this nice lodge for a honeymoon and there's a f****** chicken in here.
"What are you doing? Get out chicken, come on, sling your hook pal."
Bemused groom Chris, 24, said: "I thought it was hilarious – every time he got shooed out he would stand there looking at us and cock-a-doodle-doo until he could get back inside.
"I kept letting him back in – my wife wasn't happy."
Despite a frosty start, the mood thawed between the Chris and the bird and he chronicled their adventures in a series of hilarious snaps and videos.
Chris said: "He was like my little best mate – he'd wander in, sit with us and he even fell asleep on me.
"The longest he stayed for was four hours when he sat on my lap watching the telly.
"Dave probably got more attention than Victoria did on our honeymoon."
But mum-of-four Victoria didn’t share Chris’ affection.
She said: "I was quite annoyed to say the least.
"We were supposed to go away and not be on our phones but instead he spent the whole time taking pictures, filming the chicken and having a laugh about it on his phone.
"He might as well have been on honeymoon with the chicken.
"He's definitely in the doghouse at the minute."
Dyserth Falls Resort manager Roxanne Parkington said that the chicken, whose real name is GusGus, had established his reputation as a character at the park since he arrived in March this year.
She said: "We have 40 beautiful peacocks here and he still manages to outshine them all and demands all the attention.
"I would like to apologise to the couple for our cheeky GusGus and his over-friendly antics resulting in him tagging along on their honeymoon.
"The Falls Resort hope they managed to get some alone time on their special break.
"Next time they stay with us we'll try getting him in his own bed a bit earlier."
