RACHEL Staudte and her mother Diane made headlines in 2012 following the deaths of Mark and Shaun Staudte.
Mark and Shaun died six months apart of natural causes, but after an investigation was conducted, it was revealed that they had actually been murdered.
Who is Rachel Staudte?
Rachel Staudte is the daughter of Diane Staudte.
Following the deaths of her brother and 61-year-old father, she was accused of killing them and attempting to kill her sister, Sarah Staudte, alongside her mother.
"As far as Dad, it was for a little peace," she told police, via .
"Shaun, because he was annoying" and "worse than a pest," she continued before adding that "Sarah was just nosy."
After an investigation, it was determined that her family members had died due to antifreeze poisoning.
Their case was shared in an ABC 20/20 episode with senior national affairs correspondent Deborah Roberts.
Where is she now?
In 2015, Rachel and her mother pleaded guilty to murder and the assault of Sarah.
As part of a plea deal, Rachel was only sentenced to a second-degree murder charge in exchange for testifying against her mother.

They are now serving out their sentences in prison.
Rachel will be eligible for parole after serving 42 and a half years, while her mother was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
At the time, police were able to connect Rachel to the murder after they found her journal, which revealed that she was helping her mother research and execute the crime.

On Friday, February 25, 2022, Diane was featured on 20/20 in an interview from prison, where she maintained her innocence despite a confession.

The media outlet reported that she had entered an Alford plea "which acknowledges that prosecutors had enough to convict her without admitting guilt."
