PIERS Morgan has called on the "world to unite" to stop "ruthless dictator" Vladimir Putin - warning that he'll invade MORE countries if leaders don't act.
The world is waking up to the awful news that Ukraine has been invaded by Russia - with a full-scale assault now plunging Europe into a bloody crisis.
Piers, 56, is one of many Brits shocked by the news this morning - as he called on the world to unite against "ruthless" Putin.
He called him a "shameful bully-boy thug" after Russia's dictator declared a bloody assault on neighbouring Ukraine overnight.
The Sun columnist wrote on Twitter this morning: "Putin’s doing this because he got away with it last time in Crimea.
"And if he gets away with it again in Ukraine, he’ll keep invading other countries until he restores the Soviet Union.
"The world must unite to stop this ruthless dictator - before it’s too late."
And Piers wrote as the news of Putin's invasion first came to light: "Putin’s invaded Ukraine.

Putin declared WAR on Ukraine in the early hours of the morning - and he's unleashed his terrifying arsenal with a full-scale assault as he's plunged Europe into bloody chaos.
The tyrant declared a “special military operation” in Ukraine this morning after months of growing tension between the two nations.
Putin ordered an aerial blitz on the former Soviet state as the 200,000 troops encircling its north, south and eastern borders began the assault.
Explosions erupted across the country with reports of airstrikes and missiles falling on key infrastructure.
Hundreds of casualties have been reported by Ukraine's Interior Ministry as the country was placed under martial law.

With the fog of war descending, getting information out of the war-torn nation remains difficult - but there were reports of at least five Russian jets being shot down.
Global leaders have condemned Putin and pledged to stand with Ukraine - with the world now just one false move from what could become World War 3.
Police sources reported explosions as air raid sirens blared as far west as Lviv - where embassies including Britain’s relocated last week.
A child and three civilians were reported to have been injured by Russian fire on Mariupol.
Ministry advisor Anton Herashchenko said Russian troops had landed in Odessa and separately were moving into Kharkiv.
Unconfirmed reports and pictures of wreckage suggested a Russian drone had been shot down near Kyiv.
'BULLY-BOY THUG'
Access to the Black Sea and Azov Sea was cut off as an amphibious landing from a tanker and helicopter aircraft was reported near the southern port of Odessa.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Putin had "chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction", while US President Joe Biden described the assault as an "unprovoked and unjustified attack"
Russia also launched a prong of its attack from neighbouring Belarus - where Putin has been shameless wooing its leader Alexander Lukashenko, a man known as "Europe's last dictator".

Putin's invasion is the long-feared follow up to when he stole the Crimea region from his neighbour back in 2014.
It was that assault that sparked a rebel conflict in the country's eastern Donbas region - with Putin just days ago formerly recognising the separatist states as a prelude to his attack.
