I’m furious after Hermes delivery driver spilled SOIL all over my doorstep while trying to hide package in pot plant
A HERMES customer was fuming after a delivery driver emptied a plant pot all over her doorstep in an attempt to hide her parcel.
Siobhan Redfern was shocked to discover the spilled soil right outside her front door in Maidstone, Kent, after a gruelling 13-hour hospital shift.
The mess was plastered all over the 24-year-old's front path, mixed in with her newly-laid white gravel on February 16.
It had been completely emptied from the pot, with Siobhan's grey parcel placed inside.
The driver then decided to put the base of the plant pot on top of the item in a last ditch effort to conceal the parcel.
Mental health support worker Siobhan shared images of the bizarre delivery, writing: "Thank you Hermes for tipping out my plants all over my new gravel, just to make room for a parcel that could have gone somewhere else.
"After a 13-hour shift in a hospital, that's exactly what I wanted to get home to.
"I spent ages making my house look nice, I am so upset."
Siobhan had ordered the clothes online and was told her package would be delivered at 7pm.
She was due to leave work at 8pm so was happy her order would only be on her doorstep for just over an hour.

The mental health support worker hadn't given Hermes a "safe place" to leave her parcel, but she claims: "There are many hiding spots at the front of my house, so I expected to find my parcel in a bin."
However, when she returned home, Siobhan was astonished by what she found.
"I saw my plant pots had been thrown everywhere and soil had been tipped out over the gravel to make space for the parcel," she said.
"This wouldn't have bothered me too much, if it wasn't for the fact that I spent several hours revamping the front of my house last week."
Social media users were quick to sympathise with Siobhan, describing the driver's behaviour as "appalling".
One said: "That's awful."

Another wrote: "I’m sorry to see this happened to you."
While a third simply said: "They're appalling."
It is not the first time Hermes has come under scrutiny for the way drivers drop off goods.
In January, a deliveryman left a "signed for" package in a bin - only for the rubbish to be collected a few hours later.
In October last year, a courier was snapped launching parcels into the back of his van.

And only a month later, another driver was reported to have been spotted making items as delivered then dumping them in the woods nearby.
A Hermes spokesperson told The Sun: "We have been in touch with Mrs Redfern to apologise and have provided her with a good will payment."
