I was REFUSED drink at Wetherspoons as the manager said she had a ‘gut feeling’ our IDs were fake… she didn’t even look
A WOMAN says she was refused a drink in Wetherspoons as the manager had a "gut feeling" her ID was fake.
Amber Satriani, 19, claims her and a pal's drinks were confiscated by staff at The Glass House in St Helens on Tuesday.
She was visiting the boozer with her 24-year-old friend when they were accused of using fake IDs to get served.
The pair had ordered some beverages via the Wetherspoons app, which were brought over to the table by a member of staff.
He then asked the 19-year-old and her mate to show him their IDs, before asking to scan Amber's friend's driving licence - leaving both drinks on the table.
But the Wetherspoon's manager then suddenly appeared, swiping their drinks and refusing to serve them alcohol.
Amber told the : "The manager said she couldn't serve us because she had a gut feeling [my friend's ID] was a fake because something had gone wrong with the scan."
The punter claims the riled-up manager didn't even bother to scan her ID and simply told them they would receive a refund through the app.

She continued: "After a few minutes I went up to the bar and asked if I could scan my ID to see if there was something wrong because obviously we’d have to contact the DVLA if our cards were playing up, to which mine scanned completely fine."
The 19-year-old says she and her older pal realised there was residue on the card, which had caused it not to scan.
But she claims the boss at The Glass House still refused to serve them.
The outraged duo even showed the staff their bank cards to prove their IDs belonged to them.
But their efforts were in vain as the manager rejected their pleas for a drink.
Amber later shared her experience in a Facebook post, urging others who had faced the same issues to come forward.
A spate of social media users echoed the young woman's complaints, suggesting staff at the establishment were sticklers for IDs.

"Unfortunately, fake IDs are readily available over the internet which means that our employees, when checking a customer’s proof of age, have to be extremely vigilant and exercise a degree of discretion as to whether IDs presented to them are valid or not.
