Male escorts break their silence over Keith Vaz scandal branding him ‘an actor and a liar’ who ‘offered to fly them around the world
THE male prostitutes at the centre of the Keith Vaz political scandal have broken their silence and branded the disgraced politician "a liar and an actor", but added they "feel sorry for his family and would like to apologise".
Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Mirror the two men claimed Vaz said he would employ one of the men as a chauffeur, and also offered to fly them around the world with more prostitutes.
The prostitutes, said to be shaken and anxious over the fallout, have also revealed Vaz used the code "painting" to talk about sex.
Both men deny claims they drugged the ex-chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee.
One of them said: "Some people may be upset by what we did.
"But we feel exposing a public person like Vaz is the right thing.
"Vaz has two lives - Jim (his alias) and Keith.
"He's the biggest liar I've ever met - tricking people from every side so he can get the benefits.
"People trusted him and voted for him.
"He was the best actor I've ever met.
"He sent me texts two days later saying 'How are you, are you OK?'
"If he'd been drugged why did he not go to the police and say he was a victim and he was drugged?
"He had enough time to contact police."
The male escorts returned home to Eastern Europe following the Sunday Mirror's exclusive front page story last week.
Despite being abroad the men were still said to be looking over their shoulders when they met up with reporters.
One of the men recalled the moment they were watching TV and realised who the Keith Vaz really was.
He said: "It was so quick, I saw him and I called my friend, I shouted 'Quickly, quickly, come quickly'.
"I just pointed at the TV and said 'Do you know him? My friend was just like 'Oh my God.'
"His mouth was open, he was shocked.
"I couldn't believe it.
He's brought shame on his family, they all have to suffer for him, they are guilty of nothing and they are victims in this. I feel sorry for them and would like to apologise to them. But Vaz only has one person to blame - himself
One of the male escorts reveals his mixed emotions about the scandal
"I didn't even know his name but when he appeared on TV I started Googling him.
"I found out he's Keith Vaz.
"At that point I didn't even know his name.
"Before the last meeting he didn't introduce himself.
"He was so friendly, offering us drinks, he asked us if we would like Coca Cola.
"We had a quick chat, always sex chat.
"He always wanted us to talk dirty when he arrived."
After they worked out who he was, the men asked Vaz his named the next time they met.
The Leicester MP told the two male escorts he was an industrial washing machine salesman called Jim.
It has also been claimed he offered to buy a prostitute cocaine.
One the escorts has claimed he regrets the pain caused to Vaz's family, but that he only has himself to blame.
He said: "I feel sorry for his wife.
"I wouldn't be able to take that stress, that shame.
"She loved him, she married him.
"He never wore a wedding ring,
"He's brought shame on his family, they all have to suffer for him, they are guilty of nothing and they are victims in this.
"I feel sorry for them and would like to apologise to them.
"But Vaz only has one person to blame - himself."
The escorts made further allegation that the MP wanted to see them again as well as other male escorts.
One of them said: "After one of our meetings he tried to convince me to go abroad, to Tunisia or Morocco.
"He wanted to take us away and but he also wanted to get my full details.
"The suggestion was that rather than meeting at his flat, he was suggesting we could go to Morocco, but I don't know if it was a genuine offer.
"He discussed having meeting with escorts in Tunisia and Morocco.
"He said 'Let me take you away on holiday."
In one text read: "What about Tunisia it is very hot."
The escort replied it's "not safe there", to which Vaz agrees "true Morocco is better. Goodnight!"
One of them added: He was very stingy about paying, he would haggle over payment but I would stand firm.
"He sent me a text saying, 'You are very pushy, you need to become a lawyer, you can really f*** your clients.'
"He used to use code, say he’d pay us for ‘painting’, but he meant sex and fees for finding him other escorts. He offered to give me money for each escort I brought to him. He said he’d give me £50 for each one."
The escort also spoke about a job offer from the MP, adding: “He texted me and said he wanted someone to work as a driver for three days at the weekend, then for any other days for a charity.
“I was interested in taking the job. I was hoping the job would go through and I’d earn good, genuine money.
“If someone’s asking you to be a driver then hopefully he will have a good business or he’s very important.”
One the male prostitutes has said he only started working in the sex trade in June - around the time he and his friend first came into contact with Vaz.
It was so quick, I saw him and I called my friend, I shouted 'Quickly, quickly, come quickly''. I just pointed at the TV and said 'Do you know him? My friend was just like 'Oh my God.'
One the prostitutes speaks about the moment he realised who Vaz was
He added that he only did it because he was desperate for cash, and said: "No one wants to do this, to sell their body.
"It's a shame, people are only doing this when they have to, when they don't have choice and they can't get a job or money.
"I treated this as some kind of extra money.
"Sex workers do it because they are desperate, they can’t afford to live.
“I’ve heard of people being attacked – that’s why I never go alone.
“We heard in the gay community that someone wanted to be tied up and give ‘soft slaps’, then they were beaten up.
“I wanted money for extra cash and I was struggling. I’m not doing it any more.”
The Sunday Mirror exposed how the MP had a late night meeting with the escorts half a mile from his £2.1million family in Edgware, North West London, and asked to them to bring poppers.
Vaz was recorded saying "We need to get this party started."
There was also talk of a fourth main joining - a Romanian associate of the two escorts.
They said he liked to take cocaine and Mr Vaz allegedly offered to reimburse him them for payment of the drug.
The MP did make it clear he didn't want the drug himself.
