An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death in Milton Keynes, Bucks.

Milton Keynes College today wrote on Facebook: "Everyone at Milton Keynes College is devastated to learn that the terrible incident which occurred on the Chaffron Way redway has resulted in a fatality.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of all involved."

The statement thanked police for clarifying the attack had not been on campus, but very close by and thanked them for commending "our incredible staff and students who rushed to help."

The healthcare students were in class when tragedy struck.

The teen was stabbed in a street outside the college, and stumbled back to the premises where he collapsed bleeding on the ground.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Healthcare students and a member of staff from the college who were in a class overlooking the redway made their way outside and provided immediate first aid, until emergency services arrived.

“The victim was stabbed near the junction of Palace Square and Rainbow Drive in Leadenhall."

“After being stabbed, he then moved towards the Chaffron Way campus of Milton Keynes College and collapsed on the redway outside.”

The college has offered students support after the incident and confirmed extra security will be working at its Chaffron Way campus.

In a statement, Milton Keynes College said: "We are aware of reports of an incident on the redway next to our Chaffron Way campus.

"Police and Ambulance services have been on the scene immediately and we believe the situation to be contained and have therefore not been advised to close the campus at this time.

"We know at this stage that colleagues and students both witnessed the incident and helped to provide emergency first aid, they are being supported by our counselling teams.

"Whilst this incident did not happen on our campus, we do know that the fact it was witnessed by College students will heighten anxiety and feelings of being unsafe.

"We will therefore be increasing leadership presence and security at our Chaffron Way campus next week to help to provide reassurance."

Cops confirmed they have arrested a teen over the stabbing.
