Family of boy who vanished on way to school 4 days ago with his hair clippers receive letter over his disappearance
Police are becoming "increasingly concerned" about Arthur Heeler-Frood and now think he has changed his appearance
THE family of a 15-year-old boy who disappeared four days ago have received a letter from him.
This comes after police found that his hair clippers were missing and officers now think he may have altered his appearance.
Devon and Cornwall Police today said a search of Arthur Heeler-Frood's bedroom had discovered they were missing.
He may now by clean shaven or with much shorter hair.
Arthur was last seen in his school uniform and carrying a black rucksack when he set off for school on Tuesday morning.
It is about a seven mile cycle to Colyton Grammar School in Colyton from his home in Membury near Axminster in Devon, but he did not arrive.
Other items which are missing from his bedroom could also be clothing he is now wearing.
Theses include blue jeans and a black hoody, as well as an Elemnet jacket.
Arthur's bike has been found in Axminster and his family have received a letter - the contents of which have not been revealed.
Officers have become "increasingly concerned" for his welfare as his family revealed that it was "clear" he intended to leave.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman today said Arthur had still not been found and officers were today following up inquiries on the case.
"The inquiries are still ongoing at the moment and he is still missing," the spokeswoman said.
His sister, Hester Heeler-Frood, wrote on Faceboook today: "It is now clear that Arthur intended to leave and his bike has been recovered in Axminster.
"He is a bright, popular and sociable boy who has just got outstanding GCSE results this summer and has just started his A-levels.
"We urge Arthur to make contact with his family to let them know he is safe and well.
"At the moment we are awaiting further information from the police but we are in regular contact with his family."
Arthur is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, with a slight build and short light brown hair.
