ANNA Delvey fooled New York's elite into believing she was a millionaire German heiress, but she has continued pushing her brand from behind bars.
Delvey was convicted of fraud as her debts eventually caught up with her, but not before she swindled $225,000 from banks, friends, hotels, and more.
Who is Anna Delvey?
Anna Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, was born on January 23, 1991, during the Soviet Union in Russia and moved to Germany with her family when she was 16 years old.
She moved to New York City in 2013 and adopted the persona of a German heiress, ultimately conning Manhattan socialites, banks, and hotels out of thousands of dollars.
Sorokin was charged with grand larceny in 2018 and was found guilty on six counts in 2019.
She was sentenced to a maximum of 12 years in prison but was released in February 2021.

She dropped out of London's Central Saint Martin's art and design college in 2012 when she decided to move to Paris for an internship at Purple Magazine.
It was during this time that she adopted the surname Delvey and continued to use this name to con people who thought they were her friends out of thousands of dollars.
In the summer of 2013, Sorokin spent time in New York City befriending art collector, Michael Xufu Huang.
It was then that Sorokin asked to accompany Huang to an exhibition in Italy.
She reportedly promised that she would pay back the cost of flights and a hotel stay at a later date.
Huang told Cosmopolitan that the money materialized later on when he was "wired money from an unfamiliar account".
The outlet reported that the art collector grew more suspicious of Sorokin when a restaurant called him following her birthday dinner.
It was alleged that the restaurant was asking for Sorokin's details, as the card numbers she'd given had bounced.
Where is Anna Delvey now?
Sorokin was released from prison on February 11, 2021, after serving three years of her sentence.
But In March 2021, six weeks after her release, she was taken back into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for overstaying her visa.
She remained in ICE custody, awaiting deportation back to Germany in Orange County Detention Center in Goshen, according to the
After 17 months in the Orange County, New York facility, Delvey was granted release from jail.
A judge ruled on October 5, 2022, that Delvey could be released from ICE custody amidst her deportation fight.
This release comes with the clause of a $10,000 bail as well as round-the-clock home confinement with electronic monitoring.
The deal also prohibits Delvey from social media involvement.
Delvey explained her new ventures and what will come after her prison time during an interview that premiered on June 16.
She said: "It doesn't look like I'll be watching Inventing Anna anytime soon.
She admitted: "The thing is, I’m not sorry. I’d be lying to you and to everyone else and to myself if I said I was sorry for anything. I regret the way I went about certain things."
Is Anna selling art?
Being behind bars has not stopped Delvey from cashing in on her celebrity as her 20 artworks were put on display at a one-night-only event at New York City's Public hotel on May 19, 2022.
The exhibit, titled 'Allegedly,' featured sketches Delvey was said to have completed while being held in prison.
The co-founder of the group that purchased Delvey's art, Patrick Peters, told The Sun they were selling 48 percent of Anna's collection. which he said is valued at $500,000.
"We had to mail in a lot of stuff [to Delvey], and 90 percent of it was confiscated," Peters exclusively told The Sun at the packed event in Manhattan.
"Anna's the real deal artist," Peters said. "The hope is eventually to sell it to one of the bigger auction houses."
"Anna has been through a lot of pain. She's used her art as an escape and as redemption. So this is redemption," he added.
According to Delvey's art dealer Chris Martine, art supplies like acrylic paints have been confiscated in jail, so her art materials have consisted of colored pencils and pens.
During the event, Delvey was live-streamed in her bright orange jail outfit as she fielded questions from the packed venue.
