People want to find ‘fit’ felon as cops bombarded with thousands of messages over wanted appeal

COPS have been bombarded with thousands of messages after posting a police appeal for a man branded a "fit felon."

The mugshot of Jonathan Cahill, 37, who is wanted on prison recall, has attracted more than 8,000 comments, mostly from smitten women.

Cahill was released from prison last September after serving part of a sentence for burglary.

West Yorkshire Police believe he has breached the terms of his release and has now been recalled to prison.

The man has been dubbed as the UK's version of "hot felon" Jeremy Meeks, whose mugshot went viral in 2014.

The former convict was signed by a top modelling agency as soon as he was released from prison.

Cops shared a picture of Cahill on social media in a bid to find him but now admirers are hoping to catch him as well.

Someone commented: "I hope he's not out in the cold. I have a spare room if he wants… Oh and a pair of handcuffs."

Another one said: "Yorkshire's very own Jeremy Meeks. His mugshot earned him right bragging rights!"

Someone wrote: "Ooft talk about a fit felon" while another one joked: "What's his crime; breaking hearts or houses?"

One said: "Christ almighty. he can hide under my bed."

Someone added: "You're not having him back I'm currently looking to handcuff him to my bed."

One asked: "If I find him can I keep him?" and another one commented: "He was in prison for burglary… must be all those hearts he stole."

However, not everyone was impressed with one writing: "Aim higher ladies, no wonder half of you have terrible relationships and can't figure out what's gone wrong."

Another user wrote: "I must need to go to Specsavers because I can't see what everyone else seems to be seeing."

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers are continuing enquiries to locate Cahill, who is described as being of medium build and approximately six feet tall.

"He is believed to be currently residing in Wakefield."
