Six dead after private plane travelling from Italy crashes in Macedonia
Aircraft went down in mountainous region of Balkan nation
A PRIVATE plane flying from Treviso in Italy has crashed in a mountainous region of Macedonia, killing all six passengers on board.
Police said four Italian nationals and two Kosovans died in the crash, which occurred south of Macedonian capital Skopje.
The pilot had made a request to land at Skopje's airport to refuel, but didn't report an emergency situation.
The aircraft lost contact with the airport shortly after this request was made.

Authorities do not yet have further information on the passengers on board, or where the plane was heading at the time of the crash.
The plane was found shortly after nightfall, a number of hours after the pilot's final communication with air traffic controllers.
