Damilola Taylor’s dad calls for Boris Johnson to ‘get a grip’ on knife crime after two teens stabbed to death

DAMILOLA Taylor’s dad says PM Boris Johnson must “get a grip” on youth crime after two more boys were stabbed to death.

A 16-year-old lad died from knife wounds in Mr Johnson’s constituency just half an hour after another, aged 15, was killed in a separate incident.

Both are feared to be the victims of postcode turf wars which have fuelled the highest teenage murder rate in London since World War Two.

Thursday night’s bloodshed brought 2021’s total of teenage killings in the capital to 30.

Knife crime campaigner Richard Taylor, 73, whose son Damilola, ten, was stabbed to death in Peckham, South London, in 2000, said: “The PM needs to get a grip on this.

“One of the murders of these boys happened in his own constituency, where violence is becoming rampant.

“I met Boris Johnson in November and pointed out youth groups were being forced to close down due to lack of funds.

“I am tired of hearing about more young lives being taken.”

The 16-year-old died at the scene from a single stab wound in Uxbridge, West London.

The 15-year-old also died at the scene of multiple knife wounds in Croydon, South London.

A boy of 15 was yesterday arrested on suspicion of murder over the Croydon stabbing.
