Theresa May is preparing to declare war on the Big Six power providers as part of an energy revolution
THE Sun can reveal the PM has hired an expert guru from British Gas owner Centrica to beef up the policy team at the heart of Downing Street – Georgia Berry.
Ms Berry’s mother was formerly the Tory party’s chief fundraiser.
The move comes as part of a planned push to clamp down on rip-offs hitting millions of hard-working consumers up and down the country.
Proposals for a market that works better for Britain are expected to be at the heart of the Prime Minister’s Tory Party conference policy blitz – alongside social reform and tackling inequality.
Theresa May has already delayed an eye-watering deal to build a nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point that analysts believe will add a fortune to electricity bills.
And experts warn there are huge policy decisions looming to keep Britain’s lights on.
Separately a raft of EU green energy subsidies face the Brexit axe.

Ms Berry was the head of corporate responsibility at Centrica and already has close links to the Conservative Party through her mother.
Diana Berry served as head of fundraising at Conservative Campaign Headquarters from 2004 to 2008.
A No 10 source said Miss Berry “will be a core member of the Policy Unit with responsibility for Energy and Infrastructure.”
