the rapper could be seen performing and surrounded by his entourage.

Drakeo, whose real name was Darrell Caldwell, died after being stabbed at the Once Upon A Time In LA music festival.

He passed away in the hospital after being knifed backstage. He was 28.

In his final Instagram post, made hours before his death, Drakeo included the caption: “DOUBLE CROSSERS GET CROSSED OUT.”

It's unclear what greater meaning the caption may have.

In the comments section, fans and colleagues flooded the post with "RIP" and calls to "PRAY FOR DRAKEO."

Festival organizers posted a message to Twitter just after 9pm to alert concertgoers to the festival's cancellation.

"The Once Upon a Time in LA Fest is ending early. All performances are now over. Please head to the closest exit and head eastbound on MLK," the post read.

In a statement on Twitter, the Los Angeles Police Department said: “There has been an incident at the Once Upon A Time in LA festival at the Bank of California.

“The festival has concluded early. LAPD will be in the area assisting CHP with the investigation.”

Videos posted to social media showed festival-goers scrambling as they attempted to climb over a fence.

An event spokesperson added in a statement: “There was an altercation in the roadway backstage.

“Out of respect for those involved and in coordination with local authorities, artists and organizers decided not to move forward with remaining sets so the festival was ended an hour early,” the statement read.

However, the event was later slammed by rapper Joey Fatts, who called out organizers for allowing knifed weapons to slip through security.

He said: "Drakeo was killed while working. Was there for a performance. All these get out the streets tweets/leave your city tweets. Shut the f**k up.

"No reason why a knife should be able to be snuck into a music festival. Especially since the Travis Scott shit. Rip Drakeo hope his fam sue."
