ISIS has slapped a £38,000 price on the head of a Bulgarian bounty hunter who rounds up immigrants trying to cross the country’s border with Turkey.

Sometimes the tattooed Bulgarian even monitors the dividing line near the city of Yambolon on horseback.

When they come across migrants, the vigilantes arrest the refugees and hand them over to authorities.

Such is the former wrestler’s fame in his home country that he has been able to buy a Mercedes S-Class worth at least £72,000.

Sitting in the vehicle alongside a popular Serbian singer and widow of a notorious war criminal Svetlana Raznjatovic, Valev said: “I thank God for giving me the opportunity to buy it.

But his deeds have caught the attention of terror group ISIS, who want the 29-year-old dead.

Bulgarian state security services have warned Valev that he is a prime target after images of him arresting migrants emerged.

Messages on an ISIS site called him the “leader of a paramilitary unit operating on the Bulgarian – Turkish border along with a dozen other men”.

They go on to promise a reward if pictures confirming his murder are provided.

Brazen Valev wears the threat as a badge of honour, plastering it over his website.

And he even declares: “I do a public service.”

Such is his fame in the eastern European country that he has been invited to appear on the country’s version of Big Brother for £66,000.

Hailing his backers, Valev beamed: “There should be fans, because without fans, man is nothing. I love you, because without you this does not work.”

He even has the backing of the country’s prime minister.

But human rights groups have criticised his acts, which have seen hundreds of migrants rounded up

Boyko Borissov said: “I personally have talked to them and thanked them.

“I sent the director of the Bulgarian border police to meet with them, so they can coordinate what they do.

“At the end of the day, the country is ours and we should be united.”

But the paramilitary group have been slammed by Helsinki Committee for Human Rights.
