TRAGEDY struck the town of Oxford, Michigan, when a 15-year-old sophomore at the high school allegedly opened fire, killing four students.
The deadly incident took place on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
How was the Michigan high school shooter stopped?
According to , surveillance videos from inside Oxford High School show the suspected shooter, Ethan Crumbley, entering a school bathroom around 12.51pm local time on Tuesday afternoon.
Minutes later, he reportedly exited the bathroom with a gun in his hand, according to Assistant Prosecutor Marc Keast.
"At that point, he methodically and deliberately walked down a hallway, aiming the firearm at students and firing," said Keast.
"After children started running away from the defendant, he continued down the hallway again at a deliberate and methodical pace, pointing and aiming inside classrooms and at students who hadn’t had the opportunity to escape."
The attack allegedly lasted for around four to five minutes, and ended when the police arrived on the scene.
After authorities entered the school, the shooter reportedly set the gun down and surrendered.
Crumbley has since been charged as an adult with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
He has pleaded not guilty.

What led up to the Michigan school shooting?
According to authorities, Crumbley's behavior had been of concern to the school before the shooting took place.
The day before the shooting, a teacher reportedly saw Crumbley looking up ammunition on his cell phone during class, according to a from the Oxford Community Schools district leader, Tim Thorne.
After the teacher reported the incident, the the suspect met with a counselor and another staff member, where he allegedly told them he and his mother "recently went to the shooting range" and "shooting sports are a family hobby."
The school then attempted to reach out to his parents, but received no response until the following day, according to the letter.
On the day of the attack, a teacher reportedly found a note with "concerning drawings and written statements" and the suspect was once again sent to the counselor's office, the letter said.
His parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, were called to the school for a meeting. They were asked to take their son home for the remainder of the day, but allegedly denied the request according to the letter.
Crumbley was then sent back to class.
The Oakland County prosecutor leading the case, Karen McDonald, reportedly has stated Crumbley may have had the gun used during the school shooting in his backpack at the time of the meeting with his parents and the school counselor.
Were the parents of the school shooter also charged?
On Friday, December 3, 2021, James and Jennifer Crumbley allegedly went on the run after they were charged with four counts each of involuntary manslaughter in relation to the students who passed away during the shooting, according to authorities.
They have pleaded not guilty.
The couple was located early on Saturday morning, about 40 miles away from Oxford in Detroit, Michigan.
Police arrested the two, and they were both taken to Oakland County jail.
According to prosecutors, James Crumbley allegedly purchased the gun used in the school shooting as a Christmas present for his son.
After the gun was purchased, Ethan Crumbley posted a picture of a gun on an Instagram account and captioned it, "Just got my new beauty today. SIG SAUER 9mm" with a heart-eyes emoji, according to McDonald.
The bond for each of the Crumbley parents is currently at $500K.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a press conference on Saturday, December 4, 2021 that each of the suspect and his parents were all being kept in isolation and on suicide watch, although they had not indicated they were suicidal.

"There is no indication that any of them were suicidal, but out an abundance of caution our amazing corrections team is doing suicide watches on all three of them," he said.
"They are in custody and in isolation."
