Is there a shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan?
THREE people are dead and six injured in an active school shooting at Oxford High School on Tuesday.
The Oakland County Sheriff said police responded to calls about the shooting just before 1pm today when staff and students heard the shots ring out.
What happened at Oxford High School?
The Oakland County Sheriff said six other people were injured, including one teacher.
Police reported to the scene within five minutes of the 911 call and a 15-year-old suspect was immediately taken into custody.
At a press briefing, the sheriff said the suspect has asked for a lawyer and "invoked his right to not speak."
One student was walking from lunch when the first gunshot rang out. She said she heard gunshots and saw another student bleeding.
She heard a total of five gunshots and said she "just ran."
"He was bleeding from his cheek and his arm," she said. "Just send prayers to the people that did get hurt. It's just sad."
Three other students said they heard the first shot and froze, but when they heard the second shot they "just started running."
"It was pure chaos. People were getting into their cars and were just afraid of getting hit," another student said.

Fox2 News spoke with Savannah, a 17-year-old student, who said her boyfriend said something wrong and told her to hide before she heard gunfire.
She said the school goes through mass shooting training and she said they knew what to do. They were told to hide in the classroom and they knew how to get out safely.
What did police say at the press briefing?
Law enforcement has carried out their initial search inside the school and they are now carrying out a secondary search outside of the school.
A University of Michigan helicopter medevac unit landed at Oxford High School at about 2.15pm and the sheriff said there was only one shooter and a suspect is currently in custody.
Police said they do know how the suspect acquired the gun, but the sheriff said he is not releasing the information at this time.
The SWAT and aviation units are on scene but police have not confirmed if any other students or faculty were injured.
There will be another press briefing at 5pm to release the victim's names, ages, and any additional information.
