TONY Blair today warns that Labour must “reject the wokeism of the minority” to win power again.
In a blistering appraisal, he said the party’s massive decline in popularity goes far beyond the Red Wall — and hits every corner of Britain.
Sir Keir Starmer must be more radical in booting out the hard left — and his “enemy is caution”, the former Prime Minister added. His warning comes in a report by the Tony Blair Institute, based on a poll of 5,500 former and current Labour supporters.
It found that fed-up voters reckon that “out of touch” Labour is more concerned with going woke than in helping ordinary Brits.
The study said: “Labour does not have a Red Wall problem — it has everywhere problems.”
Mr Blair urged Sir Keir to go further in reshaping the party to prove it can be trusted in No10 and win back the centre ground of voters worried about tax, education and the NHS.
He said there must be no compromise with the hard left, adding: “The country must know there is no question of negotiating the terms of power with them.”
