At least eight killed and 70 injured after huge car bomb rocks police station in Turkish town of Cizre
Turkey has been attacked recently by Islamist militants ISIS and Kurdish PKK rebels
A HUGE car bomb killed at least 11 at a police station in Turkey – with scores more wounded.
The devastating explosion hit the south-eastern town of Cizre.
The town lies on the country’s border with war-torn Syria.
Images of the scene showed the multi-story building decimated by the blast.
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim pointed the finger at Kurdish militant group the PKK.
He vowed to give the “vile attackers the answer they deserve”.
Cizre has been a flashpoint in tensions between the pro-independence Kurds and Turkish soldiers before.
Authorities have not ruled out ISIS jihadists having carried out the attack, which took place at 7am local time.
Turkish solders and tanks crossed into ISIS-held territory on their Syria border on Wednesday.
The bombing follows an explosion that killed 54 people at a wedding in Gaziantep on Sunday.
President Tayyip Erdogan blamed ISIS for the attack.
He later added that he believed it had been carried out by a child bomber whose suicide vest had been remotely detonated.
