But the clever app has introduced a feature which is about to change the way travel forever and it's very simple to get your head around.
Whenever you look up a place and visit that destination, the save function allows you to mark the spot in your maps so you never have to retype it again.
And fortunately for keen travellers, it works all over the world, so you'll never lose the location of that remote restaurant.
It's ideal for helping to remember the whereabouts of the spaces you loved and makes it easy to plan ahead for the future.

How to use the save function:
1. Open Google Maps as usual and type in the location of where you want to go
2. When the correct destination appears, select the tag to expand the location fully
3. Then you just have click the save button and a star will appear in that area
When you open your maps again you'll be able to see all your saved locations and if you want to delete any of your saved locations you just have to click 'unsave'.
