Family’s heartbreak for ‘beautiful’ daughter who died in BMW smash, as cops arrest four

Four people have been arrested after Sophie Taylor was killed when her car collided with an apartment block

FOUR people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a young girl was killed when her prized BMW smashed into a home.

Sophie Taylor, 22, was allegedly being followed by two other cars when her black BMW1 Series veered off the road, colliding with an apartment block earlier this week.

The young girl from Llandaff, Cardiff, was killed at the scene with her male passenger, a 21-year-old, in hospital fighting for his life.

Two men and two women have now been arrested.

Sophie's family has since spoken out after the crash, remembering the young woman as a "beautiful little princess".

A family spokesman said: "She will forever be in our hearts as the caring and loving person she is. We will miss you."

Her mother, Jackie Taylor, also took to social media, saying: "My beautiful princess Sophie. I am so empty and heartbroken without you."

The 21-year-old man who was a passenger in the crashed BMW is now in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Two men, a 22-year-old and an 18-year-old as well as two women, aged 23 and 28, now remain in police custody.

The group were all arrested on suspicion of manslaughter but no charges over the young event promoter's death have been laid.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the crash to come forward.

South Wales Police Detective Inspector Rob Cronick said: "A full investigation is continuing to establish the circumstances leading up to the fatal collision at around 12.35am on Monday.

"We believe the cars travelled along Newport Road, Broadway, back onto Newport Road and then turned left into Glossop Road passed Cardiff Royal Infirmary prior to the collision on Meteor Street."

Investigations are continuing.
